JAMBOREE 2010

Tanner, Daniel and their cousin Kaden had the wonderful opportunity to go to the 2010National Scout Jamboree. They were gone for 17 days and had a wonderful time. The first 7 days they got to tour the eastern part of the USA and the last 10 days were spent at the Jamboree itself in Fort A.P. Hill, VA. Here are a few of my favorite pictures that the boys took.

Logan River Walkway

Today Sam, Brittany and I went on a walk through the Logan River Walkway. It was a beautiful morning. Britt and Sam had fun throwing rocks in the river and looking for wildlife. I just enjoyed being outside. Here are a few shots of our day. Krist-this is our jungle experience just for you!!! (minus the spiders)

Tony Grove Wildflowers

Last week we went to Tony Grove for 1/2 a day for the Ivie Family Reunion. The wildflowers were just coming out and they were beautiful. I love Wildflowers!!!!
Here are a few pictures I took. It was a great day. Nature has a way of calming our busy lives.

4th of July Adventure

On Friday night Jim and I celebrated the 4th of July with Daniel and Samuel. We had a campfire outside in the backyard with yummy roasted chili cheese dogs, homemade smores, bisquits the hot dog stick (my favorite) and the ever popular roasted STARBURST! It was a wonderful evening and to top it off we could see the fireworks just perfect from our backyard. We turned on our radio and watched the fireworks to the music. I personnaly love fireworks (they always make me cry!) There is something so magical and patriotic about fireworks.

Kristi's Off to TAIWAN!

On Saturday, June 26th we sent Kristi on her way. I have never seen her so excited to go on an adventure. She was all smiles. And thank heavens for SKYPE we hav been able to talk with her twice this week. She is having a great experience and despite the fact that I miss her terribly, I am glad she is having so much fun. School starts on Monday, July 5th for her. I am anxious to see how that goes!

A 2nd Day at the Lake this Summer

On Monday, June 28th we made it to the lake for another day of fun. Daniel, Samuel and Sam's friend Erik went with us. This time we went to the pool and had a great time. Afterwards we made some lunch and while I had a much needed nap and read (Fablehaven #5) the boys played Monopoly. Then they got out the trikes and toys from the garage and had even more fun. What a great day!
