Abandoned Robin's Nest

Twice this spring we have had a robin build a next on our front porch column and twice they have abadoned their nest. We keep hoping one will actually stay so we can watch the baby birds again. The first nest Samuel pulled down and there was still a blue egg inside. The second is still on the front porch column hoping the robin will come back (it has been 6 days).
