Ranger Graduation

Samuel has been in Mr. Hawkes 5th grade class all year. At the end of the year he has a "Ranger" graduation of Hawke's Rangers. The students in the class have to meet certain criteria in order to graduate. There was a nice program, DVD of the year activities and presentation of the certificates. Sam is now in the 5th Brigade, 2nd Platoon of Hawke's Rangers. Congratulations Samuel!

"Student of the Month"

Tanner was nominated as "Student of the Month" for the month of May 2010 at Sky View High School. The teachers at Sky View High School nominate three students from each grade as "Student of the Month." Tanner was nominated as one of the sophomore students. He was nominated because he is "one who personifies the highest standards of service, leadership and character. He is respect a model students and one in whome we have the greatest pride." He was honored at a luncheon on Tuesday with Principal Swenson and aother admistration. Best of all he was presented a check for $25.00 to spend as he wishes.

"Breakfast of Champions"

Daniel was invited to the "Breakfast of Champions" this morning. At Cedar Ridge all the students who received a 4.0 GPA during the year are invited to a breakfast where they are honored for their academics. Jim and I got to go with him this morning at 6:30 and have breakfast followed by a short program. Daniel was given an academic medal and don't forget, a box of Wheaties! Way to go Daniel!!!

Greenville Mile 2010

Sam was able to participate in the Greenville Mile race again this year. He was mad because he didn't do as well as the past two years but we were excited that he was a finalist! I told him it was because he didn't eat his Wheaties, he responded, "What are wheaties?" I laughed! Way to go Sam!

Abandoned Robin's Nest

Twice this spring we have had a robin build a next on our front porch column and twice they have abadoned their nest. We keep hoping one will actually stay so we can watch the baby birds again. The first nest Samuel pulled down and there was still a blue egg inside. The second is still on the front porch column hoping the robin will come back (it has been 6 days). Here are some pictures of Samuel and the first robin's nest.
